Brown & James promotes new principals

Brown & James announces the elections of Kara Burke, Shane Chapman, Taylor Connolly, and David Perron as principals of the firm.

Kara Burke practices in the firm’s Belleville office. She focuses her practice in the areas of environmental insurance/toxic torts, health care liability, insurance law and premises and retail liability. Kara was named One to Watch in Insurance Law by Best Lawyers for 2022. She received her law degree from Saint Louis University.

Shane Chapman practices in the firm’s Belleville office. Shane’s practice focuses on defending physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers in medical negligence actions in Illinois state and federal courts. However, he also has experience defending a variety of claims, such as construction accidents, asbestos exposure, and legal malpractice. He also advises clients on compliance with HIPAA and Illinois privacy statutes. He received his law degree from Washington University.

Taylor Connolly practices in the firm’s Kansas City office. Taylor practices in the areas of business and commercial litigation, construction law, insurance law, premises and retail liability, as well as product liability. Since 2018, Taylor has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers. He received his law degree from William & Mary Law School.

David Perron practices in the firm’s St. Louis office. He practices in the area of health care liability. David is also a volunteer for the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri Volunteer Lawyer Program. He received his law degree from Saint Louis University.
