Shane Chapman and Nathan Perlmutter won an appeal in the Fifth District of Illinois transferring a medical negligence case from St. Clair County to Clinton County. The Plaintiff argued that venue was proper in St. Clair County because she drove through St Clair County en route to an emergency room in St Louis, Missouri, with an active infection the defendants allegedly failed to diagnose. The Court agreed with the defendants that the travel through St. Clair did not establish venue.
