Brown & James named Teresa Young as chair of its Diversity Equity & Inclusion Committee.
Young, who practices in areas of complex litigation, appellate and privacy law, also leads the firm’s recruitment and hiring committee. Under her leadership, the firm has placed a priority on recruiting women and minority lawyers and offering them mentoring and other opportunities for training and litigation experience.
In her new role, Young plans to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into all aspects of the firm’s activities with a special emphasis on education, recruiting, and retention.
“We are grateful for the great strides she has made in promoting diversity in all aspects of our firm, which has been a great benefit to our firm and our clients,” said T. Michael Ward, managing principal.
Young was recognized as a Diversity & Inclusion Award honoree by Missouri Lawyers Media in 2019.
