Joseph King assists with primary first-party insurance matters with a special focus on claims involving issues of arson and fraud. He assists with pending claims and examinations under oath. He routinely assists with claims throughout all stages of litigation.

Prior to joining Brown & James, Joe worked at a large international law firm assisting with federal government investigations, class actions, and corporate litigation. He has served as a Special Public Defender for the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office and also worked for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. Joe has worked on personal injury cases and handled his own caseload focusing on family law.

After law school, he served as a judicial assistant (law clerk) at the Illinois Third Judicial Circuit Court in Edwardsville, assigned to the Hon. John B. Barberis, Jr. During law school, Joe served as a judicial intern at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, assigned to the Hon. Barbara P. Hervey. While in law school, he also served as an intern in the St. Louis City Counselor’s Office Litigation Department and at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Houston, Texas.

Joe also enjoys spending time with his children, friends, and family, traveling, live music, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, St. Louis Blues hockey, and Kansas City Chiefs football.
