Mr. Koehler handles a range of litigation matters throughout the Midwest in state and federal courts in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Iowa.
Construction: Mr. Koehler primarily represents clients in the construction industry, including insurers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and lenders in disputes involving construction defects, disbursement of escrow funds, project delays, insurance coverage and mechanic’s liens. He also represents clients in drafting and negotiating construction contracts.
Director, Officer & Shareholder Claims: Mr. Koehler has also routinely handled commercial disputes (contractual claims) and fiduciary claims for business executives (D&O claims) in state, federal district courts and bankruptcy courts. He has also been lead trial counsel in cases involving shareholder disputes in closely-held companies.
Professional Malpractice: Mr. Koehler has extensive experience handling professional malpractice matters brought against accountants, lawyers, title agents, architects, engineers and professional land surveyors.
Creditors Rights: Mr. Koehler has considerable experience representing creditors in state and bankruptcy courts. He has represented insurers in bankruptcy court in disputes regarding insurance coverage, and defended clients against preference and fraudulent transfer claims.
Genetically Modified Seeds: Mr. Koehler has significant experience defending clients against patent infringement claims involving genetically modified (GM) seeds.
