Born and raised in eastern China, Xiangyuan (shee-AHNG-yoo-AHN) was in Beijing for undergraduate studies and came to the U.S. for law school in 2016. While attending Washington University School of Law, he served as a teaching assistant for a legal writing course for international LL.M. students. His previous legal experience involves global anti-corruption practices, data privacy law, and juvenile law.
In his personal life, Xiangyuan is a professionally-trained Chinese calligrapher and enjoys creating calligraphic works in his spare time. He also enjoys teaching himself American Sign Language and Irish Whistle. Social issues that he concerns himself with include privacy protection, sustainable development, rights of the disabled, and education in developing countries.
