Brown & James, P.C. is seeking experienced medical malpractice defense litigation Paralegal.
Current opening is in our St. Louis office.
Job Responsibilities: Obtain medical, employment, Social Security and workers’ compensation records; Maintain chronological order of all case related records; Prepare and summarize medical records and all other case related records as required by lawyer; Prepare deposition indexes as needed for trial; Assist with trial preparations;
Job Requirements:
- Must have Paralegal Studies Associate’s Degree or Paralegal Certification
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology, conditions, standard practices/treatments, and billing practices
- Must be able to accurately summarize medical billing information
- Must possess ability to manage large volume document productions. Knowledge of electronic document review programs a plus.
- Must be able to maintain a consistent method of organization
- Must possess knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures
- Must have the ability to handle competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
