November 4, 2025

Legal 500 US Elite recognized four Brown & James lawyers in its inaugural Missouri Elite – Commercial Disputes section. Principals David Buchanan (Kansas City), Joseph Callahan (St. Louis), Steven Schwartz (St. Louis), and Christopher Seibold (Kansas City) were named as regional players handling work at the top of the legal market in their respective cities. Brown & James is also ranked among the top firms in this area.

US Elite “seeks to recognize key US lawyers outside global elite firms, opting to focus on those at regional powerhouses that may be neglected by other rankings.” US Elite research editors extensively review candidates, interview top practitioners, and consider peer feedback and evidence of key matters worked on by the ranked attorneys during the past year.
