Brown & James is proud to announce Tracie England has joined the firm as a principal. Tracie brings more than 20 years of civil defense litigation experience to the firm, deepening our health care liability practice and strengthening our footprint across the state of Kansas.
Tracie is a trial lawyer whose practice centers on the defense of complex civil claims, with particular focus on health care liability, professional liability, and insurance law. Throughout her career, she has concentrated on defending health care providers and institutions in medical malpractice cases — work that has earned her recognition as a Super Lawyer in Medical Malpractice.
Tracie is an active and respected leader in the Kansas legal community. She has served as president of the Reno County Bar Association since 2022, is a longtime member of the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel, and holds membership in the American Association of Nurse Attorneys. She also regularly presents on medical malpractice litigation and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts investigations.
Tracie earned her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law with Dean’s Honors and her B.A. Magna Cum Laude from Wichita State University.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tracie to Brown & James,” said T. Michael Ward, managing principal. “Her depth of experience in health care liability and her standing in the Kansas legal community make her an exceptional addition to our team and to the clients we serve.”
