Successful Verdict in Breach of Contract Bench Trial

Alexis Brudnicki and Chris Seibold received a verdict in favor of their construction contractor client in a breach of contract case in Jasper County, Missouri. The plaintiff client made a claim for a breach of contract after not being paid for construction work completed on defendant’s property. Defendant made a counterclaim for a breach of contract, alleging that plaintiff did not complete the work in a good and workmanlike manner. Through the testimony of the client during the bench trial, they established that the plaintiff completed all work that he was contracted to do, it was never indicated to him that anything in his work was deficient in any way, he made multiple attempts to be paid for his work, and defendant failed to fulfil the obligations of the contract to pay plaintiff for the work that had been completed. The judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff including court costs, and on defendant’s counterclaim, the court found in favor of the plaintiff and against the defendant.
