Dedra Moore and Oluwatosin Agunloye successfully helped defend a mother who lost five children in a tragic house fire in a highly publicized and heartbreaking case in St. Clair County, Illinois. Despite this mother’s grief, she faced a felony charge that carried a potential 20-year prison sentence, with the state asking for nine years. Our team stepped in on a pro bono basis to support lead counsel Brittany Kimble, and first-year associate Oluwatosin delivered the opening statement at trial.
Last week, at sentencing, the judge imposed probation rather than incarceration. While nothing can undo this family’s loss, this outcome offers a chance for healing and underscores the critical importance of advocacy, compassion, and fairness in the legal system.
As part of our attorneys’ commitment to ensuring justice for all, Dedra offers expungement services for individuals seeking a fresh start and a second chance. She has experience guiding clients through the legal process with compassion and discretion. She also offers pro bono legal services to qualifying individuals and communities in need.
