Tucker is a shareholder who prides himself on being able to competently and successfully achieve his client’s goals regardless of the type of litigation. Throughout his career, he has represented a wide variety of clients, including insured individuals, medical professionals, corporations – local and global, and insurance companies in a broad range of cases including mass toxic torts, medical malpractice, construction liability, shareholder derivative actions, premise and product liability, and insurance defense.
While known for his versatility, at present, Tucker’s practice is primarily focused on defending mass toxic tort (asbestos, talc, flavoring chemicals, organic/solvents and others); health care liability; and insurance defense cases. His mass toxic tort practice includes serving as managing partner of the firm’s Belleville, Ill., toxic tort litigation team that handles more than 1,200 cases for contractor, premise, and product liability defendants in state and federal venues across Illinois and Missouri, including Madison County, St. Clair County, and Cook County in Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and St. Louis City, Jasper County, and Marion County in Missouri. In this role, Tucker oversees case investigation, discovery, dispositive motion practice, expert discovery, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. He has helped his clients win motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, as well as obtain voluntary dismissals.
Tucker’s health care liability practice involves representing emergency room physicians, dentists, nursing homes, and medical product distributors against medical, dental, and nursing home malpractice and product liability claims in various circuit courts in the Metro East St. Louis, northern Illinois, and southern Illinois areas, as well as the district courts of Central and Southern Illinois.
Tucker’s insurance defense practice involves working with claims professionals for carriers of various insurance lines and their insureds to defend against a broad range of personal injury claims, including construction, premise, transportation, and product liability. In this role, Tucker is responsible for defending the case from responsive pleading through resolution, whether that be through settlement, dispositive motion or trial.
